DOT certification, and where this size fits
This Manchester-built 200 lb (45.6 gallon) vessel carries DOT certification - the transportable-cylinder standard, as distinct from ASME vessels built for permanent stationary installation. That matters where the tank needs to be exchanged or moved for filling rather than filled in place; requalification of DOT cylinders on their normal schedule is handled through your propane supplier.
The 200 lb class is the workhorse between grill-size cylinders and fixed-yard tanks: enough capacity for heaters, cookers, roofing kettles and temporary site supply, while remaining a size that a supplier can swap. It ships vacuum pre-purged and empty - your propane supplier makes the first fill - and like every tank here it is sold new with its certification data plate fitted.
